Self Care Before the Big Day

Yesterday was National bubble bath day so I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to talk about self care leading up to your wedding day. There is a million things you could do from a relaxing bath to journaling. Here are some of my favorite self care activities to do before your big day:

  1. Relaxing Bath: You guessed it! A soothing bath with your favorite essential oils will help relieve stress. Light some candles, play music, read or even watch your favorite show.

2. Spa Day: its very nice to be pampered at the spa, or even have an at-home spa treatments. get a massage, a pedicure or a facial to help calm your mind and relieve more stress.

3. Meditation: Take a few minutes everyday to practice mindfulness. It can reduce anxiety and promote inner peace. It is easiest to remember it when you Incorporate it into your morning or nighttime routines.

4. Exercise and stretching: I know this isn't everyone's favorite thing to do but it really does make a major difference in your mind and body when you are consistent! My personal favorite is taking a walk outside with my dog and enjoying the sounds of nature. (not blaring music or talking on the phone with friends) It could also be just a light stretch in the mornings or even a dance class!

5. Quality sleep: I know its hard when your big day is rapidly approaching to get good sleep, but it is so important to get a full nights rest every night so you 1. don't have bags under your eyes in photos and 2. feel refreshed and can actually enjoy your day without feeling sluggish.

6. Healthy eating: The things you put into your body can have a major impact on your body, mind and skin. It is really important to do some research or talk to a nutritionist to make up a food game plan.

7. Journaling: incorporating journaling into a night time routine just takes a few extra minutes and really can help relieve stress. there are lots of books that have prompts every day for beginner journalers.

Self care is all about taking care of yourself mentally and physically. Prioritizing self care can make a major impact on how you feel about yourself on your big day. Hope you enjoyed!
